Yam Porridge (Asaro) 

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 tuber of yam
  • Palm oil
  • Onions 
  • Dried fish
  • Blended crayfish 
  • Dried pepper 

Directions :

  • Peel,wash and cut yam into cubes as seen in the image below. 
  • Add yam cubes into an pot,pour enough water to just cover the yam. Cover the pot and cook for 20 minutes. 
  • Open the pot and gently break down the yam cubes with a wooden spoon. Make sure not to stir to the bottom so that it doesn’t burn. 
  • Add the rest of the ingredients. 
  • Reduce the heat, cover the pot and simmer for another 10 minutes.
